enough people want it, but the obstacles seem to tower over the need to do it.. There's internal homophobia,
there's loads of negative thinking, there's people playing "the boss" over people that don't accept bosses just like
that - and bad
organisers too ..
there's people that want to do it to promote their egos and some of them even afraid to show their faces in
public.. so they almost manage to convince everyone that "nobody will march in public"
there's women full of fear that would happily march proudly and peacefully against their fears, but nobody
will listen to them.. after all they'e just women..
there's trans-women that would love to make a show like abroad.. but they gor the above problems amoing them,
and very-fewer of the other willing people would march along with them ..
The place at "Protomagia sqr" is still supposed to be offerd to "eok" for the purpose.. let;s just wait
and see what they (he) will make of it..
ps - mid-october is the season when the fall rains come to Athens.. let's prepare our rainbow umbrela's
in any case ..
a lot of happenings programmed for October and Novebmer.. but mostly they're not publickly anounced, and
recently they're not even telling us.. then they complain about non-participation. Well, folks you got to decide
who you want coming to your happenings, and make sure they're told in good time ..
December 1st, 2004 - the world AIDS day, - UNAIDS has devoted 2004 to "women, girls and HIV/AIDS- 2004".
We wellcome the campaign to inform people about how women's health will affect general community health and
the future, and how inequality
and violence against women is a major factor in expanding statistics of women wictims of HIV/AIDS,
and the key-role of depriving women of health and sexual education - and degrading female general education too at that..
We 're not so happy we're informed about this campaign that's been active since last February.. in late September..
but we're really glad we're told before it's oner (on December 1st.. thenext campaign for the next year should be anounced..)
In Greece.. ActUp-Drase is trying to get womens' orgs to cooperate in organising and staging all kinds of happenings
and informative campaigns.. but the responce is poor at best cases (the rest is just non-existent) - reporting Oct. 6, 2004

Saturday, January 31, 2004. the 'EOK' (greek homosexual community) site says they're cutting a new years cake at
Enydrio, Sygroy str., and it's open to everyone. But a couple of days ago it was scheduled for the 24th. Youd beter
check with their site or contact them to be on the safe side. That's a good chance to inquire about their legal status
and their "members".
